Lunchtime

Fulwell Infant School Academy has Healthy Schools Status and has a policy of promoting heathy eating, as well as a healthy lifestyle.

School provides a cooked lunch freshly prepared on the premises by our cook, Mrs Tanaszi and her excellent staff. It is provided free of charge for two courses. Drinks of juice are also available.

The menus are served on a rota

As nursery children have to pay for their meals, the charge is £2.50 a day. Any uneaten meals will then be credited to the next half term. Unfortunately, if a sick child is sent home after 10am, we cannot refund lunch money as the meal preparation will have already begun. Plus £3.50 child care over the lunch time period.

All payments will be made online through School Money.

HEALTHY SCHOOLS

We are proud of achieving our Healthy Schools Status. We have a strong commitment to promoting a healthy lifestyle and our Food Policy and Physical Activity Policies are available on request.

We work closely with our School Meals provider to support healthy menus and healthy initiatives e.g. food tasting sessions. Food issues are taught in school through cross-curricular work, such as the Year 2 “Funnybones” topic.

GOVERNMENT FRUIT SCHEME

All children are offered a piece of fresh fruit every day as part of the Government Fruit Scheme. Please sign the relevant forms if you wish your child to participate in the scheme.

We encourage the children to drink water throughout their day in school. Children can bring named water bottles into their class. Water fountains are also available in school.
