At Fulwell Infant School Academy, we are proud to offer Forest School experiences which help children develop confidence, resilience, independence and a love of the outdoors.
Our Forest School provision currently runs as an after-school club led by a fully trained Forest School leader. Sessions provide children with exciting opportunities to explore, investigate and learn through hands-on outdoor experiences in a safe and nurturing environment.
Our Forest School area includes:
- A dedicated fire pit area for supervised campfire activities
- “Hagrid’s Hut” outdoor classroom space
- A wide range of outdoor learning equipment and resources
- Natural spaces for exploration, den building, problem solving and imaginative play
Children take part in a variety of activities designed to encourage teamwork, creativity, curiosity and risk awareness. Experiences may include:
- Nature exploration and wildlife activities
- Outdoor crafts and creative projects
- Shelter building
- Tool use (under close supervision)
- Campfire cooking and storytelling
- Team games and challenges
- We firmly believe that learning outdoors supports children’s wellbeing, communication skills, confidence and emotional development, whilst also helping them to develop respect and care for the natural world.
- Our Forest School sessions are always highly popular with children and provide memorable experiences which complement learning within the classroom.
