Parents As Partners

In the summer term, parents are invited in to school to share their child’s books with them. The children love this occasion and are always very proud of what they have achieved in the current year.

We welcome parents into school at all times. There are sometimes opportunities for helping in class with small groups of children, taking part in educational visits, attending concerts, coffee mornings and other school events throughout the year.

If the school has any concerns, we will contact parents. Similarly, we ask that you contact us, if you are concerned about anything affecting your child. From time to time we may hold meetings to share information about the curriculum. The school is well supported by the “SOFIA”, supporters of Fulwell Infant Academy. SOFIA arrange events, both social and educational and welcome any interested parents joining the group.

Parents of all children in school are invited to two consultation evenings each year in addition to more informal coffee mornings, assemblies and other seasonal events. Twice a year, all parents in key stage 1 receive an outline of the curriculum targets to be covered by their child and then receive a short written report outlining progress made towards these targets.
