Anti-Bullying is taken very seriously at Fulwell Infant School Academy, with the children being heavily involved in efforts to identify, recognise, and remove instances of bullying.
Through the School Council and Behaviour Champions, the children are a very active element of our anti-bullying strategy.
As part of our assembly programme, behaviour and bullying are regularly featured. Within the Personal, Social, Health, Economic element of the curriculum in both key stages, circle time and social stories together with drama and role play are used to re enact issues such as bullying. Children explore ways of resolving disagreements or what to do if they think they are being bullied.
Anti-Bullying : Behaviour Champions
As part of our work in anti bullying week, each class nominated a friend to be class behaviour champion. The awards were presented in a special assembly on Friday afternoon.
The children decided the award should be for 2 weeks, at which point another child will take on the role. The children are all wearing a white behaviour champion badge. In the many discussions we have had with the school council, they believe the nominated children will demonstrate exemplary behaviour and kindness to others.
Anti-Bullying : Assemblies
Whole school assemblies regularly address bullying issues and the importance of the qualities of good friends.

Anti-Bullying : Information Around School
There is an anti-bullying notice board that children can post messages and pictures on. This is in the school hall.
Posters and information about bullying are displayed in corridors, classrooms and other general areas in school, to ensure that every child knows what to do if they are worried.

Anti-Bullying : Be a Good Friend
Children are very aware of the important qualities of a good friend. Again, positive messages and awards in assembly recognise theses characteristics.
