School Improvement Targets

The Quality of Education: We aim to:

  • To create a provision for children with complex needs and no support, admitted in
    September and for those with EHCP’s who require additional provision. That children
    accessing Quality First Teaching are well supported and support plans are effectively
    used in the classroom to enable gaps to be narrowed.
  • To further develop children’s mental fluency and rapid recall of number bonds through
    the Mastering Number programme. To ensure good long-term memory retention of key
    knowledge through the Daily Memory Jogger. To successfully implement the Financial
    Education Planning Framework throughout school so it is well embedded.
  • Extend problem solving and reasoning, challenging all children (focus on most able).
  • Focus on improvement in the understanding and use of an extensive vocabulary through
    the updated Oracy curriculum.
  • Improve the accuracy of spelling of key words in writing.
  • Ensure writing standards are evident in cross curricular work.
  • In EYFS develop the independence in writing of children and their productivity.
  • Ensure all children achieve highly (from their starting point) in reading.
  • Focus on improved fluency and reading for pleasure, alongside a sustained focus on
    information retrieval skills.
  • Review and update the Behaviour Policy.
  • Ensure regular training of new staff supports the consistent delivery of our RWI
    programme throughout school to sustain exceptionally high standards

Personal Development, Behaviour and Attitudes: We aim to:

  • Embed the new Relationship and Sex Education (RSE) and health education provision.
  • Further our support for the emotional well-being of children and their families with
    attachment/separation anxiety and support for families experiencing loss.
  • Improve attendance to 95.5% by July 2025.

Leadership and Management: We aim to:

  • Continue highly effective school improvement, further developing subject leadership, the
    curriculum, raising standards and improving the effectiveness of school improvement in
    other schools.
  • Lead Fulwell Infants successfully through Inspection.
  • Work towards expanding the Trust.
